Bay Clinic's Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) Program is a series of 10 classes that help patients with diabetes learn techniques and strategies to better manage and control diabetes, which will improve their health outcomes and quality of life. DSME classes are offered at our Hilo, Kea'au, Pahoa, and Ka'u Family Health Center locations.
Our program is credentialed by the American Diabetes Association, and has been recognized as a model self-management program throughout the State and Nationally.

- Session 2: Nutrition
- Session 3: Exercise
- Session 4: Medication
- Session 5: Monitoring
- Session 6-7: Acute and Chronic Complications
- Session 8: Goal Setting
- Session 9: Psychological Adjustment and
- Session 10: Strategies for Long-Term Management
